Best on collaboration: Ocean Sprint
To be a world class seafood producer Austevoll Laksepackeri wants to increase their ability to share data over organisational boundaries. This was tested during the Ocean Sprint last week.
As part of the operationalisation of the ideas from "Best on Collaboration" Digital Tvilling was invited to contribute to an Ocean Sprint. The Ocean Sprint is a design sprint to engage several different companies to engage in collaborative innovation.
– The concept has been developed and facilitated by the Ocean Innovation Catapult Center, and the main idea is to offer skills development for companies in the maritime industries within design and prototyping says Eirik Solberg at Capgemini Bergen.
Lars Petter Aase from Frog Design was leading the sprint. He has a long career in design and is the program manager for Design Thinking - Strategic Design for Innovation at Norges handelshøyskole NHH. The theme for the sprint was digital twins for Austevoll Laksepakkeri and was the first case explored under the theme “Data for better decision support in aquaculture”.
– Austevoll Laksepakkeri has a vision of being a world class seafood producer. To realise this, we must increase our ability to share data across functions and organisations within the whole system and value stream says Silje Rabben, Lean facilitator at Austevoll Laksepakkeri.
The sprint resulted in new findings and understandings between all participants. We at Digital Tvilling would like to thank all participants and organisers for a great week together. New friends and alliances where discovered and we are looking forward to taking the results forward together.
“Imagine a digital twin of the ocean, where would that take us?” says Eirik Solberg.
